The University of Milan funds the Journals section of the Milano University Press by covering the costs for server hosting with 4Science, ISSN registration fees, Crossref membership for DOI management and iThenticate since 2020, and copy-editing services starting in 2025. The open-source software, OJS (Open Journal Systems), ensures long-term archiving through LOCKSS via the OJS PKP PN Preservation Network plugin.

The platform does not allow the inclusion of commercial advertisements.

Milano University Press has created a space on Zenodo where authors can upload their pre-prints and post-prints, provided agreements with the Journal allow it: https://zenodo.org/communities/milanoup/.

Authors publishing with Milano University Press, even those not affiliated with Unimi, can use the University's Dataverse repository to deposit data related to articles published on the platform.

Journals hosted on the platform commit to adopting language that respects gender equality, following the guidelines outlined in the “Vademecum linguaggio di genere” of the University of Milan.
