La sessualità dell'assistito sottoposto a chirurgia bariatrica: revisione della letteratura

Abstract

INTRODUZIONE:
La chirurgia bariatrica è in grado di comportare un considerevole calo ponderale e, soprattutto, di mantenerlo per un lungo periodo di tempo, comportando un miglioramento dell’autostima, dell’immagine corporea e di conseguenza della sessualità.

SCOPO:
Indagare, attraverso una revisione della letteratura, come il modello di sessualità e riproduzione si modifichi tra il pre ed il post-intervento di chirurgia bariatrica, al fine di individuare aree di interventi assistenziali specifiche e migliorare il benessere psicosociale di questi assistiti.

MATERIALI E METODI:
Per sviluppare il seguente elaborato è stato formulato il quesito di ricerca utilizzando la metodologia PICO. A partire da settembre a ottobre 2022, è stata effettuata una revisione della letteratura consultando le principali banche dati biomediche internazionali (Pubmed, Cinahl, PsycINFO) che ha portato alla selezione di 14 articoli.

DISCUSSIONE E CONCLUSIONI:
La revisione ha dimostrato che la compromissione della funzione sessuale in maschi e femmine obese prima dell’intervento di chirurgia bariatrica tende a migliorare significativamente dopo l’intervento. Dagli studi emerge anche la necessità di portare in primo piano queste problematiche nei confronti delle quali, l’infermiere potrebbe avere un ruolo cruciale demandando alla valutazione specialistica solamente i casi più complessi.
