Emergency radiology plays a crucial role in the management of acute patients, where diagnostic timeliness and safety are essential for clinical outcomes. In this highly complex setting, nursing care contributes significantly to the effectiveness of diagnostic pathways through technical, organizational, and relational skills. This study presents a narrative review of the national and international literature, integrated with reflections derived from clinical practice in emergency radiology, aiming to describe the main nursing care domains relevant to patient safety, quality of care, and humanization of assistance. The analysis identified five key areas of intervention: preparation of the environment and verification of the emergency trolley, communication and patient information, correct patient identification and informed consent, management of peripheral venous access and contrast media, and clinical monitoring before and after the examination. Systematic attention to these domains may support improvements in patient safety, procedural efficiency, and overall quality of care, while also highlighting the central role of nurses within time-dependent diagnostic pathways.
