EDUCATIONAL

"...because everybody is good at rejecting a paper..."

The new Dissertation Nursing® EDUCATIONAL section aims to provide applicable educational content for all nursing students who want to approach the world of research with a critical spirit and willingness to apply themselves. To achieve this aim, it proposes to publish (in a non-indexed manner) different types of contributions, whether from students or researchers:

- Incomplete studies: a research project may have to be interrupted due to difficulties in finding data, errors only realized later on, or various other reasons. Publishing incomplete work with an appropriate reason and explanation is an important opportunity for new researchers to grow, as they can learn from what has been previously done to progress in the field of research.

- Obsolete studies: Sometimes, studies carried out with the correct methodology take time to publish, resulting in obsolete and implying the need to update them for possible publication. The publication of this kind of content, with a brief review of current progress on the topic, can help suggest new directions for developing new research and updated studies on the same topics.

- Small-scale surveys/reviews: small-scale studies, even if carried out without a rigorous methodology, can be an important starting point for in-depth investigations, extensions, and learning how to implement scientific research methodology in practice. To this end, the publication of this kind of contribution will be accompanied by a constructive editorial suggestion regarding improvements to be made to carry out a similar study in a more rigorous (and scientifically valid) manner.

All submitted articles will be subject to double-blind peer review.

PUBLICATION FORMAT:

Authors wishing to publish in Dissertation Nursing® EDUCATIONAL should send some separate files in word or open document format. These documents should be structured as described in the GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS by adding the paragraph "Current and future prospects" or, in the "restricted" format, as follows :

1) Title Page:
Contains the authors' reference data in the following format:
Surname First Name, Affiliation, Email, ORCID (if in possession of the author).
The reference author must be clearly identified and indicate an address for any postal correspondence.

2) Abstract:
In an unstructured format (or narrative format) of 150 maximum words.

3) Main text:
A document of a maximum of 1000 words (800 for papers falling under the category "Investigations/small reviews") following the structure:

- Introduction
- Methods
- Results
- Discussions/Conclusions
- Current/future perspectives
- References (References section is excluded from the word count)

4) Questionnaire/Scale: newly created questionnaires or scales should be sent in a separate file.

The "Current/future perspectives" section (at least 200 words) will be aimed at students approaching research, offering constructive and formative content depending on the type of publication:

- for INCOMPLETE STUDIES, a timely examination of the reasons that led to the abandonment of the study and possible recommendations for those wishing to carry out new research on the topic are requested.

- For OBSOLETE STUDIES, it is requested to adequately specify the extent of obsolescence of the study's data and the presence in the literature of any new evidence in the field concerning the subject matter. Any concordance/discordance of the latest literature's results on the subject with the presented study's results should also be reported, with some indication for future search.

- For SMALL-SCALE SURVEYS/REVIEWS, this section will be replaced by a renamed section, "Methodological improvements for future studies," compiled by the editorial board. Upon completing the paper review, the editorial board will agree with the author on including the section.

- TABLES AND IMAGES shall be limited, in total, to a maximum of no. 4 tables and/or images.
